Superintendent Dr. David J. Peterson's September Letter

Dear Scottsdale Unified School District Family,

The 2014-15 school year is off to a great start! It is hard to believe that we are already done with our first month of school. During the first few days of school, I was able to visit every school in the Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD). Great things are going on in our classrooms – thank you all for a positive start to the new school year. Additionally, members of my Leadership Team visited campuses to help ensure an excellent beginning. It is great to see everyone working together on behalf of students.
See the September Letter.

Items Needed in Lily's Closet

Lily’s Closet is in need! Ms. Lily is almost out of clothes to help students who are out of dress code. If your child has been “loaned” clothes because they were out of compliance, please wash and return those items as soon as you can.

Hohokam's Vex IQ Robots

Falcons Alight & Falcons Take Flight are Hohokam's Vex IQ robots teams.  We have been to two qualifying events.  One in Scottsdale where Falcons Alight with their robot Falco finished FIRST in Team Competition.  Another was in Fountain Hills where Falcons Take Flight with their robot Merlin took 2nd place in the Team Competition. Congratulations to our Vex IQ Robotics Team who competed at the Arizona State University on Saturday, 3/1! A Special thanks to Ms. Barbosa and Mr. Peabody for their leadership and commitment to the team. The tournament was a wonderful culmination, and celebration, of the hard work and dedication exhibited by our outstanding students and teachers.
